This is Clive Mitten's epic two-hour orchestral re-imagining of the early years of Twelfth Night. The album comprises cinematic orchestral recompositions of all of the material contained on Twelfth Night's three seminal albums plus a few live favourites, reworking them in a classical style to produce something entirely new.

Here’s what Clive himself is saying about it…..
I had for some forty years wanted to revisit the early years of Twelfth Night. I had it in my head that I could do strange and wonderful things with the music. Then on 23 March 2020 the first lockdown occurred and I was off. From the outset I planned this as a "cinematic orchestral" album, a style that I had been developing for the last five years. Musical influences? Reich, Glass, Adams, Bach, Beethoven, Wagner, Mahler. That makes me a "post-minimalist" or "need to get over myself".

This is not a covers album. Re-composed means taking fragments or larger pieces of tunes and rethinking their purpose from the most basic notes. Some tunes are more or less aligned to their original structures - some confuse the structures. Things move around.

I remember the excitement when The Sentinel was released having seen the band live a few times before. I loved the album but was aware that there were tracks missing and it had been rumoured that it was to be a double album. To hear all these takes and works in progress takes me right back to the 80's and the buzz of all the new prog that was coming out back then. BBT are standard bearers for modern prog, with a sound that evokes the spirit of those legendary 70s bands whilst managing to also be thoroughly contemporary. It's astonishing that over 30 minutes of music of this quality, with such high production values, is being made available for free - and their full albums are also very reasonably priced...
